Personally I would have kept my cards close to my chest, at least until you'd contacted the police and had a word with the dealership owner. Putting the evidence in the public domain may go against you.

Sorry, this is absolutely not typical...

I have been trying to log on to ScoobyNet but my phone system etc is proving difficult...

If you would mind doing be a favour and adding my personal details to the thread?

Andrew Shelly

I take all of this very seriously and as an owner it's horrific that this has occurred...

I take all complaints both personally and seriously and would (if I could) offer my apologies...

Please feel free to pass this information on to whomever wants to contact me...

Regards

can't believe that!
Glad you have got the footage, create a youtube account or send it to 'idiot UK drivers exposed' on facebook (the clip of my crash has had over 750,000 views )

You have given the garage the chance to apologize for how they treated your car and they stuck 2 fingers up at you.
Tomorrow, go into a police station and report the driver with the footage

Then contact your local paper and see if they will run a story.

One other thing, if locals have seen your car being driven in that way, when you drive in that area people will think that it was you

I was going to take my car there in the near future, but going to keep well clear now.
I would be surprised if the service manager and whoever was driving the car still has a job this time tomorrow. Report it Asap

I'd be fuming if that was my car.

As above, I'm sure someone will post the video for you.

I think it should be posted as well to warn other people. I would also involve the Police.

The driver and the service manager want sending down the dole office.

Worst thing is judging by the attitude of the service manager and the bloke that did it, makes it seem as though it's common practice to go ragging customers cars about the place, so I wonder how many other cars have had oil changes there and then been taken out and canned in a 30 zone, probably before the oil has even had a chance to get up to temp, which we all know takes about 15mins.

Well done Shelly Motors at least you've let us all know who to avoid in the future.

Sad thing is I have been up all night thinking about this and what was said to me when I rang to complain about this.
Just feel sorry for the other staff that work there because the bad press goes on them as well.

I did tell the service desk that it has got a tracker that sends alerts to me clearly they was thinking I was joking but the add extra was the front and rear cam that took the film of it being done.......

Not surprised you couldn't sleep, there would be smoke coming out of my ears Not just at the fact it had been done but also the attitude when you complained, would have probably tipped me over the edge and have me bursting a blood vessel.

At least you've got them bang to rights and can give them a taste of how it feels to be kicked in the goolies.

Keep us all informed as I'm sure everone else would like to see how this pans out, and get the video up.

I take mine to a Scooby specialist for any work that needs done, while he doesn't do all the work himself he keeps a good eye out and test drives every car personally. This kind of thing makes my blood boil.

In Northern Ireland we have government run MOT centres (not a garage, just drive through MOT centres). One of the inspectors took my pride and joy for a blast around the outside of the test centre, ragged from cold in front of my eyes. The coolant wasn't even up to temperature. There will always be wee ******** out there with no respect for others property.

I'd be careful about posting a vid at this stage - unless you are confident that you can prove the garage had your car at the time and it wasn't you driving - you're likely going to need to prove it to plod

WTF did he do that for?

And how would the car have been cold out of curiosity?

BBC Rogue Traders might like this. Their researchers could find any other customers that may have been treated this way, set up a sting and we all get to watch it on the BBC

I think I might sell it now and stay well clear of them,
Could put in the ad one carefully owner but one driver trying to break land speed record in it.....

Bloody hell, really not what you expect from a main dealer (or anyone you trust with your car). Interesting to see the reaction from the dealership on Facebook, it does appear to be one of genuine concern.

I hope you get a positive outcome.

Maybe give the owners a chance to put things right before dishing the dirt? I would def contact the police in case the test pilot set off a speed camera. Give the owners a chance to give you loads of compensation before destroying their once Good reputation.

Have spoken to the owner Mr Shelley he was very sorry what had gone on and that he is going to look into this matter and get back to me asap so can't ask for more then that can I.

The thing is we are all no angels and break the speed limit now and then hit when it is someone else car then we look after it, so no doing 71mph in a 30mph zone also in the wet.

Maybe new Stig is born out of Shelley motors

That's not the right way to handle those things, imho. They've been responsible for their reputation acting like this. Show some *****, face the consequences and take action, that's what it needs.

I don't think you can leave this in the hands of the garage proprietor now. What guarantee do you have that he will prevent the same thing happening to some other unfortunate customer?
Furthermore have you any proof that it wasn't Shelley himself actually in the driving seat?
It's on record and in the public domain that an employee of that company broke the law, and apart from any personal afront you may have suffered, I think you are almost duty bound to report the incident to the police.

Yes you are right but Shelley motors are approved Subaru dealers so this is not a good advert for Subaru to let's this go on.
Maybe any test drive in the future needs to be carrying a gps to state the speed.

Ps still waiting for Subaru head office to get back to me
