My daughter told me yesterday that she has a 10 year old step son in her year who is going around the school telling other kids I knocked his mum out pmsl, my daughters friends so incensed by this reported him to the head mistress !!

I wonder what the benefits are to being a councillor as it seems some quite undesirable people are keen to get on the gravy train

15-20 k for county level if your very lucky
Most Councillors have part time jobs as well or retired on a good pension and want to put something back into the community
Generally you do it for the prestige and the feel good factor
Nothing but hassel 80 % of the time but that 20% when people thank you for making improvements ,atending civil duties or opening new projects or switching on the Xmas lights and 2000 people turn up makes it all worth while
But you have to be a certain sort of character

I know a lovely councillor who always bumps into me in Tesco. I never spot him in Aldi or LIDL.
