My gf likes it, she screams sometimes when we hit bumpy bits or if I really floor it, but whenever I ask if she wants me to slow down she says no Most of my friends like it, except one guy who is a bad passenger in any car, and even he likes it as long as I don't go too quick. Not had any bad comments on the looks either.

Well my girlfriend has no real opinion on the car, she thinks it is a bit fast and flashy but doesn't comment on my driving or going sideways, and believe me she is not one to be quiet, ever, she just doesn't havent any opinions on cars!

However our daughter, who is not yet 2, loves the car and calls it "Daddy's Red Car" and does impressions of the exhaust noise all the time. She comes to the windows when she hears my car. Whilst I don't drive fast when she is in the car, she loves it when I drive down bumpy tracks in the car...

good to get her well trained at a young age!

Jon

My wife never utters a word when I drive.

I always seem to be picking fingernails out of the passenger side dashboard though.

Can't get the wife out of mine!
It's terrible when you have to ask for the keys to your own car! Well, got to go and make the dinner now, clean the kitchen, do some ironing, darn my socks etc...

Cool

My fiancee' loves my car. She came to the track day at Oulton Park earlier this year, and I blagged her a ride in a 22B with Harj - Before me!

She thoroughly loved it.

She's probably more aggressive behind the wheel than I am.

She drives a chipped and de-catted Renault 19 16V like a nutter. She drives the scoob when I feel like indulging her, and although she has to tippy-toe 'round corners thanks to the vast difference in handling, she loves planting a bit right foot and getting that turbo spinning like a demon!

I'm trying to talk her into buying a cheap WRX and she's thinking about it...

Trouble is, now we're getting married, we've apparently gotta save for a wedding or summat !!!

Hi Max. My boyfriend likes Subarus but can't understand why Ive bought the turbo! He thinks I'm a bit of a mad driver. Atleast he's got something right!
He quite liked the justy that I got loaned the other day. EEEHH???
Still, he's not a bad old lad as he's going to build me a kit car to do some racing in and he can't even drive himself!
Enjoy your car when you get it. They're absolutely fantastic!

I say, steady on Mellow Yellow! All that naughty stuff is supposed to stop when you get married - havn`t you read the script? Making love in the back of your Scoob is fine, but with the wife??

LOL me....... Damn, I sure hope that doesn't happen to me Gotta hide those keys...

Well, first, a big thanks to everyone that replied... Registered today on the BBS, and it feels great to have this much attention first time out.

Second, it's good to know that there are a few nutters outthere wearing skirts (Sorry if you don't ladies, but it was the best way I found to describe you ). Teach those macho's in their GTI's who's the boss behind the wheel

Third, I guess nobody is gonna beat Mellow Yellow for getting some emotion out of his scooby, but... Should you be telling US about it ? I wouldn't, or she'd kick the hell out of me. But, on the other hand, those are plans she'd put into action without letting me know in advance (I Love surprises )

Max

Having your passengers genuinely frightened in the car isn't something to be proud of..

Having said that, I can always tell when a passenger's getting nervy, cos I see one hand go for the door arm rest, and the other hold on to the seat in the brace-for-impact position !

Besides, if it were to compensate for ***** size.. I'd be driving a Sinclair C5

I once picked up a hitchhiker on a run to Dublin. He didn't speak the entire way. 100 miles and 96 minutes (three large towns to negotiate) later he staggered from the car and vomited at the side of the road. Can I be proud of this?

DavidBrown, It's true that it's easy to sence when a passanger is getting scared, but I usually ask beforehand, because if he's already scared, your reputation's already trashed... And yes, I like o keep a serious image (Sort of)

Fast bloke, did you see the french movie Taxi ? well, you should And no, you shouldn't be proud !!! You're not in the movies... Still, even if WE forgive you (Ok, so we are all a bit sad) , the hitcher never will

My wife doesn't like her head slamming against the head rest, with the force of sudden deceleration and then acceleration during gear changes.(Can't think why!)
Now I just shout 'brace!' when I'm going to floor it. This seems to do the trick!
However, after the Cambridge run, she was pretty stiff, as she had been 'braced' for almost the whole run!

Cheers,

Philip.

Damn, you guys are good... fast_wrx just made me sound like a moron, laughing my head off at work, with everybody else around me very silent... "BRACE" is a great idea
