Default Brake discs

Hi. Iv got a v5 type r and wondering if people have kept the standard 4 pots and 2 pots and put bigger discs on and better pads. And how good are they? Just can't afford any brembos, ap racing etc ATM so trying to keep the cost down but still have better brakes. Cheers.

I had the Godspeed 335mm front kit and his grooved rears and yes they work well - certainly better than any other combo I have had on WRX 4 pots.

I'd steer well clear of some of the ebay ones - they look good on the face of it but they are usually kind of bodged even though they use decent disks.

I am not saying they are as good as an AP setup ( which I have now switched to - Godpseed also), but they are a definite improvement and take considerably more hammering/less fade.

This is what they were on ( before the build) and ran for five years and never faded for me on the road running 363 BHP 350 lbft.

I do have my old setup in the garage and up for sale if you are interested. Not really too fussed either way but there is a for sale thread somewhere for them.

Ok cheers for that. How much are you selling your setup for? Does it come with pads? The standard brake setup is pretty poor tbh, especially when Im use to brembos that were on my leon

Link of for sale thread. Feel free to make an offer by PM if you fancy - no worries either way.

The only thing I would add is that the Impreza is not so heavily servo assisted as some other makes and this can often make them feel worse than they are. The four pots/2 pot WRX's can be made to work pretty well but they will not match a high quality big brake setup or full brembo's with top quality discs and pads - but then your going to pay at least twice as much if not more so pays your money makes your choice really.

Will your wheels clear larger discs?

Not sure if they will. They are the oz prodrive ones of the newage I think. So not sure what the offset will be on them. I should imagine they would
