Default Finally decided on wheels TE37s

After shopping about looking at endless styles of wheels I have decided to settle on Volk TE37s

These will clear the Brembos and also look very nice! I am thinking about getting 18x9.5 but not sure on offset if anyone can help?

Also does anyone have 19s? I have thought about getting some but not sure how much work is involved to get them under the arches?

Found an article below that states a guy runs 18x9.5 +22 on his Hawk

http://t3hclap.com/archives/93

I need to get the wheels spot on because i'll be spending over £1500. Last time I spoke to someone about offset they mentioned closer to ET30 on 9.5 wheels?

More research done and Rays only make the wheels in

18x9.5 ET45

Will they fit?

ET45 should fit, but might catch on the inside of the wheel/tyre. If they do, you could use spacers to get the correct offset. Most people run et38 on the size of wheel you're after so you'd need a 7mm spacer to get the same offset

If your going for a dished wheel like a bbs then your going to struggle in the uk.

I've spent the last three months looking.

If you want this type of wheel and your spending that sort of money you have two choices. Import or custom made.

The us lads get different offsets to us and they just bolt on. We get more extreme offsets here so getting something like an lm wheel won't fit over brembos.

The best option is a custom made set. If I had your budget then I would be doing what I nearly did but only maxing my credit card lol

Contact image wheels in the uk. They can make custom cast or billet wheels to your spec. Hence you can have a 9" rim but mount the face where you want to clear the brakes and get the offset you want.

They do both a rs and lm style wheel and its £400 of a 8.5" rim iirc

This is the best option bud.

Do a bit of research on Image before spending any money there. I had some dishes made by them a few years ago but would never use them again

What sort of wheels are you after Jake? I've seen a few sets of LM's on edition over the last couple of months

I've sorted myself now but was a proper pain,

We only have one wheel place locally and that's wheel base a d there a bunch of arseholes!

So I bought some team dynamic pro race off another forum, they turned up cracked so in the end I got a great deal on some brand new prodrive gt1
Alloys.

Ive found a place that will source the TE37's for me at 18x9.5 ET45, they are just over £400 each. I wanted a deep dish but they are too hard to find and I like the look of the volks so will get them ordered soon

Thanks for your help guys

I ran 8 x 19 ET 44mm OZ's and didn't need any work or spacers.

Where you are going to stuff the extra 1.5" is questionable.

I didn't have 19mm of clearance at the strut or to the arches, so prepare to fit spacers and roll the arches heavily. You may also need to "clown-up" your show car with the stretched look for the tyres....

Best of luck !

Hi Dunx, im gonna go for 18's mate I think 19's will be a bit of a push and I dont want to be rolling the arches and having them catch everytime I have a few people in the car

I still like the idea of 18x9.5, the only reason I want the wider wheels is from photos that extra width makes the wheels look a hell of a lot better

You need to talk to people, Bigarf had to pull and roll his arches to get something similar onto his car, the point I making is that you are trying to fit wheels 1.5" wider than mine, that's lots of room to find.... ( 19mm inwards and 19mm outwards ).
19"/18" isn't the issue. My 19"s are 2% taller than the std. STI wheel/tyre combo. Currently on my diesel Golf

IMHO they are only going to be used to sit on at a show, not actually move around on, never mind with passengers too !

dunx

P.S. I'm only in Wakefield, I could wander round and put one on your car to show you just how little room is left for an eight inch rim with a 235 tyre....

They should fit on yours, but if you will go with lower offset as ET38 then you can have problems with brake clearance(mainly on Brembo),some people run 2-5mm spacers on the Rota 9.5JX18" ET38(we never run any spacers on the K-Sport)

Rays making in different sizes and different offset, but assume you will need 5x100,if yes then probably better is go with hub converters, think in US one company selling 5x100 -> 5x114.3 Hubcentric Converters and have lower offset wheels and you can have lots of options too on different makers like is ADVAN
