Classic tyres for STI wheels
Hi,
I have just had a set of Newage STI 17" wheels refurbished and I am about to order a set of tyres in 215/40/17, I take it these will be fine? How do they feel on the roads compared to 205/45/17?
Also if I fit 215/40/17 tyres on these STI wheels will they rub when I fit my Eibach lowering springs (-25mm Still using standard shocks)
Cheers

I think there are other suspension mods..
Lowering moves the roll centre down, which has the effect of making the car roll more.
Up to 20mm or so is usually OK, but after that, you need to mess with suspension settings to get the handling back.
Does it already have:
Solid droplinks?
Stiffer REAR (only) arb?
Full geometry from a place that knows what they are doing?
Far better unless you just value looks.......

Those bits will be fitted along with new bushes when I do my suspension overhaul this summer.
The suspension feels a bit tired so will be looking into a decent road setup, New shocks and slightly lower springs were my first thought, I just wanted to check that my wheel/tyre size combo won't prevent me lowering the car later down the line if needed.
Its probably lower than standard now due to 13 year old springs
Just want the best setup for road with the odd track day. Certainly not bothered about dragging its **** for the sack of looks
