Track Day pads.
Hello, I am planning on taking my Turbo 2000 to a track day.
I currently have the 4 pot calipers with OEM Discs and Pads. Im hoping to upgrade these.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Front Disc and Pad combination that will make my car more suitable for a couple of track days?
I cant decide between drilled or grooved discs.
Thanks in advance
Otis

Thanks Ian,
A local garage recommended some Ferodo DS2500 pads to me, how do the carbonne Lorraine RC5+ pads compare to these?
Also, do you have a contact number please?

My cousin tracks his car a lot and uses mintex m1144 ! He runs them daily also on standard plain discs. I did a track day with him at oulton recently as his pads were faultless , mine were shagged after 8-10 laps ...
The mintex are only £110 for my sti so should be a little cheaper for you I think ..

I know the 1155 are more track focused , but he's run these pads a few years in his edition 30 and has done loads of track days at oulton / spa / the ring ... And he pushes the car... He's never had a issue with them on track , and as I say his wife uses the car for work everyday.
Just from that perspective they seem a good buy. As a track pad only the 1155 is better

Well i'm as shocked as Alyn then , as I'd say the 1144's are more aimed at small hatchback such as a Saxo / 106 , it is not something I would ever recommend for a Subaru for track use , and especially doing track days , I'm amazed at what your saying he has done with them , as I would never expect that.

Yeah they're fitted to a mk5 edition 30 gti running 300bhp. Pretty lardy car ! Dsg too so no really engine breaking. They're run on a r32 brake setup. He rates them highly and I've been in the car on few passanger laps and they felt great even 2 up

I accept that I'm not arguing ... I'm just having some input that might be useful ... They may be terrible on a subaru ... But he has used them a few years on lots of tack days on his car as rates then highly :-) ill say no more haha
