New Brake Pads - Brembos?
Howdy
Need to get some front pads for my 2.5 STi. I had Pagids when I bought the car but don't know which variant, then I bought some Tarox Sport + which I fried on a track day so now need new pads but can't decide. I was originally thinking of Pagids RS4.2.1 but I heard they are being discontinued so the next logical step is the RS4.2 but I'm worried about squealing. Its my daily drive so I don't want a track day special but a good fast road pad would be ideal. Then I was recommended the Brembo HP Sport but at half the price of the Pagids are they really any good? I always thought that Brembo pads weren't that great but hey, I'm running brembo brakes so surely the pads would be good. Any help appreciated.

I have also been looking at these pads for my classic. Havn't seen much said about them, but they look fairly well priced IMO. I would also be interested to see if anyone has had any experience with these!

Performance Friction Z compound would be ideal for fast road and occasional track at very sensible money too: http://www.superhids.co.uk/brakes/br...-compound.html

4.2.1 is definately still available in most shapes.....................although Pagid have launched some new track orientated compounds to their existing range
PFC z-rated against E*C is a no brainer and as one of the leading PFC distributors we always have good stock and more to the point good deals.................
if your looking for a bit more than a fast road type pad then the newer 08 compound is very capable

Thanks fellas. I had heard about PF Zs before but didn't know too much about them. I'll be ordering soon bro. A big no no to the ebc blues, mate has them on his Evo and he hates them.

Yeah, decent performance Friction pads are >£200 I've found.
Ok then, just checked that Aztec link and they're £119, maybe I was looking at a different set? Oops

Got the PF Z pads in now and just bedding them in. At first I thought something had gone horribly wrong as there was no bite at all and some juddering. After 10 or so miles they started biting nicely and I'm up to about 40 miles now and all's good. I will continue to bed them for another 20 miles with a nice drive up to Hemel next week. Can't wait to get in some proper driving. Cheers.
