Default 18x9.5 tyres fitment

Yea so I'm getting these wheels for my bugeye and need tyres.

Question is whats the best rim size that would tuck nicely under the arches?
The wheels are a et38 and I want to go really really low. (Apologies to the people who don't condone doing this to a rally car buts its my plan

225/40/18 is the best size for that wheel but you'll still need quite a bit of arch work to get low

That tyre choice will have some stretch, but not a massive amount.

I'll post a picture of mine, which has the same setup, once I've finished work

Hi there

We are running 245/40 ZR18 on the 9.5JX18" ET38

On 225/40 9.5JX18" will be stretched more than on 245/40

not the best pictures of the amount of stretch to be honest, but should give you an idea
245/40/18 will be to wide to get low

And the only picture I have showing the e39 spoiler, not the best again!

All tyres have slightly different sidewall stiffness and shoulders so not all 225/40's will have the same stretch when fitted. I think tyrestretch.com has a gallery with pictures of different makes on, might be worth a look. Would have been better if I'd thought of that earlier haha

Always the way I dived straight in with my 180sx and hoped for the best lol.
This is why I'm asking a lot of questions on here so I get it right straight away

225,40,18 tyres will be best to fit on the 9.5 to get them under the arches
