Default Pink Calipers

Hi, the missus has just bought a bugeye wagon but the calipers are in need of a refurb. Anyway she wants pink but I can't seem to find a pink hammerite etc.

Does anyone have any pics of what it will actually look like and what paint did you use? Thanks.

Your going to want high temp paint for a start, I wouldn't bother with hammerite myself!
Get down to your local motor factors and get them to order some in for you!

Rubbish, you don't need High Temp.

Most people would never get the temps high enough to effect the paint on the calipers .

I've used Hammerite on the calipers on two of my old cars and it works a treat as do normal rattle cans.

LOL, you must have done something wrong then, I've now painted TEN sets of calipers on TEN dufferent vehicles with Hammerite in various colours and NOT had any problem, ever.

For peoples info, Hammerite IS high temperature paint

Pink: Noooooooooooooo, it fades terribly, unless you were to MIX hammerite white with Hammerite red in a separate can, so you have some for touch up when it inevitably gets damaged taking a wheel off etc.

Start with white and add red, stirring, a bit at a time, until you get the colour you want.

I have always used hammerite also on my previous cars with no problems. I just wasn't sure whether they did a pink. I guess not judging by the posts.

Has anyone done this so I can see before I buy 2 pots of hammerite to try and make cerise lol?

Hammerite don't do pink but as long as you mix the same sort of hammerite it should be fine.
Or you could find a local car bodyshop and get them to spray them pink (I used 2 pack paint on my calipers)

A good 2k paint will be fine mate , I spray all sorts of calipers for mates etc using this , never had any probs , did my 911 last year and it survived 2 Le Mans trips and still looks brand new , 2k is very tough paint with good temp ranges .

What about this if you don't have the use of compressors and spray guns ,
