Default Wheel refurb question

Hey

I have just purchased my first Subaru (Hawk WRX STI) and wanted to get the alloy wheels refurbished ... what’s the best way to do this? Standard refurb with spray or have them powder coated and baked? The reason I ask is I’m sure I read that power coating isn’t good due to the heat produced by the brakes, can anyone confirm?

Cheers

There was a thread on here where a members alloys had failed shortly after being powder coated. I think the consensus was that the process may have weakened the alloy that had previous damage.

If i remember properly. it was something to do with using the correct powder and it requiring less heat in the baking process. thus causing no damage to the alloy wheel...
