Default Anyone running 8 x 18 on a classic?

Anyone running 8 x 18 wheels on a classic with no arch modification, or maybe just rolled arches?

What ET?

Thanks

I can't say about ET, but,
a) it won't handle any more and,
b) I hope you have no fillings as it will loosen them

I'm currently running 7.5 x 18 with 215 35 18 rubber, but will be changing to 225 35 18 in the future. I was thinking about trying 8 x 18 wheels though, but at the moment i don't want to be doing any arch modifications.

I would imagine more contact patch better the handling.

Thanks

Can't say, except that Prodrive advise against fitting more than 17" wheels to a classic as it is "detrimental to the handling".

I'm not about to argue with Prodrive

Contact area has no effect on handling, maybe on grip?

Did prodrive not put 18's on the P1?

I have a set of 8 x 18 Rota Formula Mesh with ET48 off of Wulseys old grey 22b rep, to go on mine got them for a good price no tyres yet tho so looking at 215/35/18 if they fit the standard arches happy days if not I am going for the ABW arch look I think.

Im running my bugeye on 8x 18's with a 34ish (VW /subaru fitment) Offset, they do nudge the arches so I am getting mine rolled. If you have standard offset they may well fit just fine.

Cammy5106 are you on coilovers?

If i was running 18 x 8 i would want 225 or 235.

If i was running 18 x 8.5 i would want to run 235 or 245.

addi monster what ET are your wheels?

Basically i was thinking of getting some Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 in 18 x 8 with an ET of between 45 and 48 with 225 or 235 rubber if possible.
This would then allow me more options for track tyres.

At the moment i don't want to be cutting my arches to piece, i want to fit the biggest wheel possible to mine with standard arches, or rolled.

Thanks
