Thanks for looking,
I've got myself some Subaru 4 pot calipers/rotors and pads to upgrade my MY98 2 pots when shot and I've noticed loads of posts on here about braided hoses being used. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if when fitting the 4 pots i would get noticeable additional improvement by fitting braided hoses and if so what should I be expecting to pay for them. I havent done any track days....yet, but do enjoy some 'spirited' weekend driving around the peak district area of derbyshire, plenty of twistys etc.
Any help appreciated thanks....melon

Braided Hoses are very good and improve the sharpness and feel quite a bit, I would deffo get some when you replace the brakes!!!!!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies
Ray, you mean replace the rear pipes as well? are they all on the same circuit, i.e. just doing front pipes will be let down by the rears? Did you replace with braided all round, any more info on the improvement you got would be nice as you were on 4 pots already.
Any idea of cost or any particular brand names of hoses?
Sorry to be asking so much but still a relative newby.. what about brake fluid, keep reading a bit about dot5.1??
Also been quoted £138 by dealer for fitting/fluid/bleeding etc how's that sound for what's involved?

Cheers..melon

melon,
i had all 4 flexible pipes replaced with goodridge types, this was done at tyres northampton (they have a banner ad on this site ), had this done at the same time as having eibach springs fitted all round, from what i recall the goodridge pipe set was £70 and dot 5.1 was £15 not sure how much the labour was as the two jobs were concurrent.

there was a definite improvement to the pedal feel i.e harder and more confidence inspiring,
i've since moved onto the godspeed 335 setup which is in a diferent league again

Melon,
Braided hoses come in a kit of 4 pipes(2 for the front,2 for the rear) cost £51.70 for Goodridge ones from ScoobyMania.

Fluid, well theres lots of opinions on this but I use AP 5.1 stuff also from ScoobyMania about £7.05 for 0.5 litre, you'll need 2 bottles. (Do not mix brake fluids!!)

You can also get them from TSL though I think they recomend a different Fluid.
