Default Wheels, offsets and spacers??

Ok, ive seen some wheels that i like and would like them to fit on my94 classic sti wagon, however they have a polished lip and from experience they wont go over my brembo calipers.

If they make them with the right pcd for the car, would i be able to fit spacers in order for them to clear the brembos, and if so is it safe to do so??

Thanks in advance

Need a bit more info mate, like wheel type, offset, size, tyre size etc. Some wheels clear brembos fine without spacers. If you put too large spacer on the tyre could foul the arch.

Best to talk to a specialist. Possibly pm M444GY on here from Ruislip Tyre Services.

Cheers

you can fit spacers to make them fit depending on how much clearance they need anything more than 7mm i suggest getting extended studs and as said above if you go to far you may catch the arches . i have run spacers to clear brembos on mine before and it was fine.

do you have the sizes or pics of the wheels in question ?

Size? 17” or 18”
Width? 7”, 7.5”, 8” or 8.5”
What brakes you got?
Any pics of wheels?

Really do need to supply as much info as you can for anyone to be able to help. Otherwise its impossible.

Brakes are gold brembos from a blobeye car on the front and standard on the rear, wheel size, would prefer to stick to the 8.0x17inch, but they do a 9.0x18inch as well

Cant get the picture to save on here for some reason, so here is a link to the page i found the picture on, hopefully that will help.

Hi

I would suggest that the Calibre Vintage wheel will not clear the Brembo calipers without some spacers due to the design of the wheel, the caliper clearance is not the best on dished wheels.
As we sell the Calibre wheels I could measure the X Factor of an 8.0x17" so you can compare it to the caliper measurements if any use??? Or if you like I could try it over the Brembo calipers of an 06 STI we have here.
Let me know if you would like me to do this for you.

Thanks

Keith

Forgive me for being thick firstly, but will trying them on an 06 sti be representative against my 94 classic sti, i know the pcd will be different, but not sure about the rest??

I would be very appreciative if it is going to be representative and useful if you could try them for me to give me some idea of what i would need to fit spacer wise.

Thanks

Steve

I thought 3mm spacers was the max without having to get extended studs

Hi

Although the fitment is different between the 06 STi and your 94 STi (5x114 - 5x100) the Brembo calipers will be the same size so it will give an idea whether they will clear the caliper or if not how big a spacer will be required. I will see if we get a chance to try a wheel on today and let you know.

You can normally fit a 5mm spacer without the need for longer studs, so long as the wheel still locates onto the hub and you get enough turns on the wheel nuts (9 for a M12x1.25 Subaru thread).

Thanks

Hi

Apologies for the delay but we have had a chance today to try the Calibre Vintage wheel on our 06 STi to check for clearance over the Brembo calipers.
In an 8.0x17" ET32 the wheel will require at least a 30mm spacer to clear the brakes!!
If you were to fit these to a Classic Impreza the wheels would sit so far out of the OE arches.
I wouldn't recommend these on a New Age or a Classic with the Brembo calipers to be honest!
I have taken a couple of photos of the clearance with the 30mm spacers fitted although the pics are not the clearest.

Hope this helps, if you need any more info feel free to call me on the number below.
