In short yes.
I've run both those tyre sizes and there are benefits to both. Notice that changing that will alter your speedo readings.
40 - Smaller radius so better acceleration. Worse ride since there is less rubber to cushion you. Better handling since the tyre wall can't move as much. The "limit" is much sharper.
45 - Much comfier. Quieter. Easier to control. Correct size for the car.
After trying both out I went for the 45s but each to their own.
