Default Wheel & tyre size info for new member.

Hi Folks

New the Subaru scene , just bought a W-reg UK2000 Classic. Loving it

Running standard 16" wheels , but looking at upgrading.

Narrowed it down to 2 ,

OZ Ultraleggra , 7.5 x 17"
Speedline Turni , 7 x 17"

Will prob upgrade to AP brake kit with 4 pot calipers & 330mm disks in the near future too.

Will these size wheels clear the brake kit ? Also what tyre sizes should you run with these size wheels ?
Is 7.5 x 17 a better size for filling the arch ?

If you can recommend a good tyre brand too for wet & dry conditions that would be great .

Alot to ask i know , but am in the right place .

Thanks Folks

the new age STI rims are very good since they clear the APs and the gold brembo brakes (of course). They are 17x7.5 which is nice too! No arch modification is needed.

Be careful though, after 2005, the PCD changed and they no longer fit earlier cars without a LOT of work.

Mine runs on bronze WRX 2004 wheels, and Toyo T1R 215/40 x 17" tyres, that being the correct size to keep the rolling radius the same. I get no rubbing whatsoever.

Your PCD will be 5x100, original size tyres were 205/45/17 but most go for 215/40/17 and occasionally 215/45/17 off the newage tyre.

18's will fit but look towards a 7x18 if poss or the tyre will looked stretched.
Classis sizes are about 215/35/18

I think the ultras loom great and they'll fit. You really want to choose the same wheel diameter as the wheels+tyres you are running now.

There is a poll going on now on the front page for ppls fav tyre.
