Godspeed Brakes

I've got standard size, 1 piece grooved disks (4 pot front calipers). They cost £400 including mintex 1144 front pads and kevlar rears.
Godspeed are in Bridgend, South Wales.
I think delivery is £10.

Hi,
I ordered one of Godspeed's 308mm Upgrade kits before easter and still not got it yet. It's not so much the time it is taking (although considerably longer than the 5 days originally quoted), it's more the fact that I have left messages on the answerphone and sent e-mails numerous times, but they just don't seem interested in giving any detail on progress. But hey they've got my money!!!!

Sorry to hijack the thread.
Ian - can you reply to the e-mails I sent earlier this week. You said the rear disks would be ready two weeks ago.
I can appreciate that you are busy with the group bye, but I have made plans ( next service) based around the disks turning up.
Cheers
Simon

Message to all moning about Ian not responding, I recently had a query with him, I mailed hima few times from the address on his profile, no response, if you go to his website, there's a different address, when I replied to that one I got an instant reply, also when I mailed him on the address in his profile, I used mt yahoo account, when I used the site address I used outlook, I just wondered whether he didn't respond to anonymous mail.
I'm sure that when everyone gets what they wnat, they'll be weel pleased, please bear in mind that Ian actually makes what he seels, so if he's on a lathe or something he won;t hear the phone, hence the answerphone.
Not trying to stick my oar in, just trying to help,
Ron,
A happy user Godspeed brakes.

He doesn't answer the phone when he is working on a car. He answered all 3 of my e-mails within a couple of hours and made 2 calls to my mobile. If you visit him you'll probably understand why he can't answer every call immediately. I suspect he has been swamped with orders recently.

Marionj , I told you why your Vauxhall Calibra kit wasn't ready on time , The parts have now turned up but I didn't get them until friday this week , I sent you an email on thurday letting you know what was going on ???
SimonJM , If you are not happy with the supply , you should buy some elseware , after all you have not paid for rear discs ,
LOL at Andre , if I had a hot woman working here I would never get any work done !!
Many thanks , Ian

Ian Godney,
That will be the problem then, never received the e-mail.
Apologies for telephone calls etc., just getting stressed with public transport.
What is the latest expected date for receiving the kit.
Thanks,
Ian

Ian
you are joking arn't you???
400 gets me front and back?? Plus pads???
that include the VAT???
how do they stand up to Track day use? (only a few a year)
do drilled Discs crack??
THANKS Ian
how much extra to go for the bigger front brakes if i keep to my 17's (TeamDymanics Rim2000's) is it a better way to go, does it make any braking differance if the disc's are larger...(the pads are still the same size!)????
have you got any pix anyone of these my a scoob?
Phil

Salsa King , Yes , you can have front & rear discs , grooved ,drilled or both , Mintex M1144 front pads and Kevlar rear pads for £400 , delivery is £10 , if you are going to do track days you will eventually crack any disc , the heat generated on the track is a lot more than you will produce on the road , grooved only discs are better for track use , If you have 17" wheels you are better off putting a larger front kit as they work a lot better than the standard size , and as the discs are a lot thicker they can take a lot more heat .
On our 335mm kit that uses the standard subaru four pot calipers we supply a bigger pad than standard.
Hope this helps , Ian

Two questions, Ian:
1) What are the 'Kevlar rear pads'? Are they EBC Blacks or Greens or something else?
2) What else can you have instead of the 1144s (too dusty for my liking)?

Phil,
I have one of Ian's front kits fitted to my car.
These discs are the standard diameter (294? cm) but have alloy bells to help dissipate the heat and prevent warping.
These discs are also quite a bit wider, so they have a larger vented gap, which requires a spacer in the caliper.
I have used them on track, Donnington, and only found that my DS2000 pads went off, nothing else.
It is initially a more expensive option at £425 for fronts only, but I believe the alloy bell is the way to go for track driving.
Replacement rotors are about the same price as uprated disks.... thats right isn't it Ian?
cheers,
Dave

Hi Ian Godney,
Got the brake kit, looks great, hoping to fit it this weekend. Just a small problem, you mentioned that the brake pipe bolts on my callipers will not fit the callipers you supplied. Could you tell me which bolts I need and where I could get them from.
Thanks,
Ian
