Hiya Steve,
Yeah my OEM disc's with the DS2500 pads fitted are fine.
NO judder or anything, as good as new!
Maybe I wasn't pushing hard enough
But as I had my ABS kick in a few times I must have been braking V hard...
Will email you later...

Sorry M8 sounds like they are warped.
This can happen from new if your unlucky. Did you sit with your foot on the brakes, for any length of time after hard use? I'm also sorry to say, that as far as I'm aware you can not get warped disc's skimmed (as its not a high spot thats the problem, but as the name suggests warping) sure someone will put me right if I'm wrong.
Why buy group N discs as these are restricted in there design. For example I believe you can't have any grooves in them, so normally unless your competing why have them?

If your competing in Group N then grooves are NOT allowed.
But the "group N" disc's for road use DO have grooves in them.
TSL & Scoobysport sell the grooved versions.
Depending how bad the warping is they can be skimmed.
I'm not sure what method they use in 2002 but a few years ago when I was in the motor trade, we had a portable lathe machine that bolted on in place of the caliper and refaced BOTH sides of the disc at once resulting in a disc that ran "true" even if there was distortion of the flange.
Don't know if they still do it that way but I've skimmed hundreds like that in the past. Just as long as you don't go below minimum disc thickness.
Would have thought Steve's disc's wouldn't need very much skimming off.

Great info, I have to go with your experience obviously. Just out of interest, was that on vented discs, and are you saying that effectively you keep the disc on the car and skim it, or am I just miss-understanding what your saying. I had understood normal practise was to remove and skim on a lathe, but I'm unsure as to how accurate/parallel the disc is then, to the centre.
Thanks for the info.

Quite right.... .. Group N does not allow grooves..
These are the same discs as we ran in the BRC, but we have an engineering company put these grooves in just to help face the pads off (not ALL that important with DS2500..organic pad)..
Obviously any discs can be made to go out of shape if you try hard enough But these discs are harder than many. We ran these for two years with Australia's number two driver, Marty Beckton wuth excellent results at speeds us mere mortals would love to try and achieve.. and never any bother . Naturally it goes without saying. If there is a fault with this or any of the products we sell that is a manufacturing defect, we will be only to happy to replace or rectify it!
Cheers
Paul
