Just curious - whats the expected life of the stardard 4 pot discs on an MY99. I've got 35k out of them so far with a new set of pads at 22.5K service.
Its just that i swapped the fronts to rears and noticed that the discs look well worn - not cracked just worn i.e. a lip round the edge of the disk probably no more than .5 of a mm.

T,
just fitted my new godspeed kit, so while i was at it measured my old my00 disc's, 16500 miles original pads 1/2, worn discs by 1.5mm this equates to about 2/3rds worn, i've not been a very heavy braker.

Ok - but how much ware is acceptable ? - What are the widths of std discs - I can then work out what is needed.

Doh - silly me I didnt think to look if there was a mark on the disc indicating minimum thickness - I'm off to look for a micrometer!
Thanks

Couldnt find a micrometer so made do with some thick solder wire !
looks like mine are close to the 22m - having said that I couldnt find the min thickness stamped on the disc.
Is swapping the discs and pads an easy job - anyone got an online quide with pics pls.

T,
just realised, you can't see the 22mm stamp until the disc is removed, its inside the "bell" section, there was a nice step by step picture guide in the last but one true grip for disc and pad changing, can't find it at the moment, maybe somebody can scan and send it to you.
i don't think your looking at more than an hour to change the standard disc/pad combo, took me 4 hours to fit my 335 godspeeds but this did entail spliting the calipers and some tapping on the caliper mounts(and a few cups of tea).

Yep - the guy at my local dealer just confirmed its 21. something (and on the back so you have to take em off !)- sounds like I need some new discs in a month or two.
Does swapping the discs to a more uprated one warrant notifying your insurer ?
Thanks
