Toyo T1r's
Hi Guys
Anyone have any comments on these, thinking about getting some for my hatch and think I have read in thes past good things, price is very good.
Whats is the wear like, road noise, grip (dry, wet & snow)
Is it true they have also been discontinued and the directional tread changed to asemetric (sp) as I don't want to buy a full set and then find I cannot replace in the future like for like.
Thanks
A

Goodyear F1s were fantastic on my classic.
Not been impressed by the T1Rs on the blob (fronts worn out at 15,000 miles), just had the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas fitted yesterday, so we'll see.

Yokohama Prada Spec 2's if you can get them in your size.
I've used them for years and couldn't speak any higher of them, although I am running T1R's at the moment because I'm back on the 16" wheels.
The Yokohama's give great grip in the dry, good grip in the wet and they even last on the occasional track day.
The tread block are pretty chunky so the tend to absorb and dissipate the heat really well.
So far as i was aware, the replacements for the T1R is the R1R isn't it?
I drove an Exige with R1R's on early last year - they grip like hell.

Hated Prada's personally. T1R are a decent tyre but as has laready been said they don't last long and the softside wall does bugger all to help the handling.
Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta is the way to go IMO. I'm on my second set and they are by far the best tyre i've had on the scooby

I suppose the key element that we're neglecting at this point is the geometry, as this can always have a profound effect on how a tyre works, behaves and wears...

Had Parada's in the past and liked them but unfortunately not available in 245's
Just priced up the Vredestein ultrac sess and all in at £119 a corner so a relative bargain, on back order but may well have to go for them, everything else is coming in at £160+.
Thanks guys

Hope you don't mind me asking, but my friend is looking to replace the tyres on his 08 STi. His size is 235/45/17.
Were did you purchase yours from?
Cheers
