Default Pictures of uneven tyre wear?

After washing my wheels I have noticed that the Vredesteins that I fitted 2 weeks ago come with a blue line on the outer tread. The rear offside one is still very much there whereas the rear nearside one has almost gone. Does this mean I am getting uneven wear and need to get a 4 wheel alignment?

Tyre sizes are 225/45/17 on standard WRX Hawkeye rims. The fronts were done a year ago. The rears (4 wheel alignment) I havent had done and Ive had the car for 2 years so could be longer.

Your tyres are too big to be fair, I wouldn't put 225's on a 7" rim. At the very least your alignment needs checking as you're missing out a basic handling upgrade.

I deliberated over putting these size tyres on for a long time and did a lot of research on it so it wasnt done lightly. There are many people who have put these on and they have been fine. I regularly checked my old tyres for uneven wear and they were ok, also there didnt/doesnt seem to be any problems with the steering wheel pulling to the left or right so I thought it was ok but the fact that the lines are wearing unevenly makes me wonder now.

This line is on the shoulder of the tyre? do you brush the kerb when you park? if so, there's your answer.

Not at all. I take care when parking. Also they are the rear wheels as well so they wouldnt come in contact with the curb (the photos do look like they are on the shoulder but they are much further in than that).

ah right. for peace of mind, it would be worth having an alignment done, but it may be nothing more than cornering causing the wear, lots of roundabouts perhaps?

Possibly. I think you are right about getting it done for piece of mind though especially as its £50. Is this when they change the geo settings for example you can have prodrive geo settings or is that something separate?

Good alignment places with proper Hunter equipment are normally IRO £80. Also what tyre pressures are you running ?

What is Hunter equipment and how do I find someone that has it? Tyre pressures at the rear are 31psi, fronts are 34psi.

Do you have more pictures of the whole tyre? ...... It does appear to be the alignment if it's running on one edge but the second picture looks very bad from that Angle if you just got it fitted 2 weeks ago, and if so then could be something more serious

But like I said, might just be able angle of the picture

Try 36 front and 34 rear too Alignment is your best bet but 31 rear is too low IMHO

I took them at night and couldnt get a good picture at all. The only indication I have that something maybe a miss is the line remaining on one side but not the other. The tread etc seems fine to be honest.

To the other post,
if it was pressure that was an issue then it would be due to over inflation rather than under inflation. If it was under inflated the outer edges would be worn more rather than less.

Nothing to do with the tyre wear, they're just not hard enough for Vreddy's

Get your geometry checked with 4 wheel laser alignment. Will transform the handling and get even wear on your tyres. It is one of the cheapest and best mods you can do to your Scoob.

Most Scoob specialists do it, Scoobyclinic, Powerstation etc.

Is getting the geometry checked separate to getting a 4 wheel alignment checked?
