Default Which Brake Pads

Fitted PF discs and pads to my 03STI(Brembo) about two years ago and I've never been particularly impressed with the performance or feel of them considering the cost of them, I'm thinking of changing the pads to see if it improves the situation.

The car already has braided brake lines and had the fluid changed for up-rated stuff last year.

Has anybody got any opinions for pad material or any experience on these brakes.......what works/what doesn't???

Cheers,

Presume you have the PF Z pads which in my experience will stand a lot of abuse but don't have particularly high friction levels. If you want to stick with PF try the 01 pads which have a much higher friction level. Also take Alans advice on rear pads, it does make a difference. Alan can supply all these pads.

Heard a rumour these were actually made by EBC .

One of the best all round pads I recommend and use myself are the new EBC bluestuff NDX , I have tried the PF Z rated , and DS2500's ect , and also sell these , but I don't find them as good. In my own cars , I have Bluestuffs in

Check out my web site for the prices on them .

Fit the front and rears for maximum effect

Cheers Ian

Didn't know that EBC made them.. Why would they do that and let Cosworth label them as theirs? Not that I am doubting your superior knowledge Ian!

Will be getting in touch with you for some discs and possibly Bluestuff pads... Everyone seems to rate them quite highly. Any opinions on the Cosworth pads?

its only what I was told with the Cosworth pads , I haven't tried them so can't comment on them , have seen some ok reviews on other sites , nothing like the feedback on the bluestuff ndx's though.

Well.. its food for thought...Someone needs to give the Cosworth Pads a good test! I'll decide which way to go nearer the time (waiting to get the front brembo's) then will change discs and pads all round.

Carbone Lorraine RC6
They need a bit of heat in them tho, but absolutely marvolous brake performance and feel when warm/hot.
Drawbacks: Yes, lots and aggresive brake dust, and they are prone to give squeekingnoises when you do not use them correctly. (Do not drag the brakes, just brake a bit later, and a bit harder)
