Hi Paul, I've got the same setup, yes it sounds like your pads are down to the metal doesn't it?
After a while you ignore it (still worries my mates though:-)

strange isnt it !
pads checked today & plenty of life left in them !
but its good im not the only one with that symtom
however you do get strange looks from people around when you brake

I have the original Brembo discs with Pagid blues and Brembo calipers and they don't make a 'graunching' sound, though they do sound very 'abrasive' at low speeds.
Maybe it's a groove thang....

I also have the scoobysport Brembo Kit and it does make this crunchy sound. I guess it's normal. Brakepower does not change.

I have Pagid discs & pads (fitted by Scoobysport) and also get grinding under easy breaking. Was a lot worse before serious on track day.

Guess it must be normal!

Has anyone tried fitting std brake pads with this set up ?
obviously wear will be bad, but are there any other potential problems ?
I might try this to stop noise !

I have the SSS B4AP Brembo brake upgrade kit which came with Pagid blue pads
Are these the ones you are talking about Pete ?

No, the RS42-1 are black.

I use these for track and road.

Does anyone have this set up with pagid Blue pads ?


if so do you get a graunching sound when you brake ?
