Default 2 pot rear calipers - brake bias valve change ?

If fitting the Classic Type R 2 pots, rear discs and the handbrake shoes to a classic WRX, is the brake bias valve required to be changed ?

Or is it the same on the classic WRX/type R etc ?

cheers

no you will simply benefit from some slight rear bias which helps................

Just to add you cannot fit the Type R rear shoes onto a classic , you would either have the fit the thicker handbrake shoes we have specially made , but it's cheaper to fit the 2001 onwards WRX discs as these are 290mm but have the smaller handbrake the same as your classic so fit straight on
Cheers Ian

never read it properly first time round........
Ian is quite right thast the h/brake shoes will not fit - you would either need the "modified shoes" available, to sleeve your type-R discs down to suit the WRX shoes or simpler to just fit the new-age WRX discs which match the calipers and your classix h/brake set-up

o.k guys, thats the route it is then (2001 wrx discs)

Out of curiosity, why wont the handbrake shoes from a classic Type R fit a classic wrx,if its just the shoes are thicker on a type R ?

different fixing holes etc ????

The backplates , shoes , bearings , driveshafts ect are all larger on the type R , these use the 180 diff which is also fitted on the 2001 onwards STI

The type R handbrake shoes wont physically fit onto your backplates.

If your after discs , I can supply you grooved ones for £85 a pair

Cheers Ian

Best to send Ian a PM or an e-mail, mate. More likely to get a response.
