Default What pads for trackdays

After doing 2 track days and covering 175miles on new Yellow stuff pads and new EBC disks the front pads are on the metal, luckily just as coming back in to the pits.
I don't expect 10000 miles from a set but 3 or 4 or even 5 track days still with good brakes would be easier to swallow.

So what do people recommend.

Forgot to say I have a 2003 STI type uk with brembos.

Is there somewhere you'd recommend getting them from?

I'd do an internet search for "Ferodo DS2500" for the best prices around. Most suppliers are on-line nowadays. API, Indigo GT, Demon Tweeks, Scooby World/Parts etc etc so many to try

Not overly impressed with the life of the yellow stuff, got down to about 3mm then fell off the backing plate. Possibly cant cope with the heat?
I think i'll try the ferodos.

I use Carbotech xp8 and they are excellent from cold on road, and i have never experienced any fade on track with them, although they do squeal a bit on road use, but thats a compromise i don't mind.

Thanks for all the reply's, decided it was cheaper to move it on as it was very expensive to run as a track car, great fun though. Pads at £1/mile fuel at about the same cost, tyres at about double that, reckon it was probably costing £6 - £7 per track mile maybe more depending on entry fees. Got a westfield instead, hopefully the running costs will be much less.

Cheers

Podrick,

I came to the same conclusion after running track Scoob for 2 years and spending a fortune on it. Just bought a RAW Striker, only weighs 500kg absolutely ballistic with only 165 bhp does 15 mpg on track on normal unleaded and doesn't wear out brakes and tyres. BTW mint 03STi track car still for sale with massive mods, sitting in my garage waiting for a good home.

Cheers, Diccy.
