Slicks for Track Days?
#1
Where is the best place to get slicks from and what type do you use?
I bought some second hand Dunlop ones a few months ago which was great, but the two on the nearside only just lasted the day and that was including swapping from front to back. I don't want a mega soft compound, but more a compromise as I don't really want to use my normal wheels if it rains. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm a bit new to all this.

Can strongly recommend Wheels Around in Auchterarder. They are the Yokohama Motorsport dealers for the UK rally teams, and can supply any make, model, size, compound of slick that you need, including road legal moulded slicks.
They often have 2nd hand ones available as well for reasonable money (about £40 each for 16s).
I don't have the phone number handy, but I'm sure someone will.
Ronnie is the guy you are looking for there.

PS I'll move this thread to the wheels and tyres forum.

Do you have an Evo? If so I have some brand new 225 Pirelli slicks for sale.
Bought for my boss's EVO VII which has recently been sold. Give me a bell or send me a mail if interested.
Cheers
