Question Difference between tyre pressure gauges - discuss!

I have been using a simple tyre pressure gauge for years. The type where the tube slides out the end and you read the pressure on the scale etched on the side. I have just received my Richbrook digital gauge and this is reading 2 psi lower than the mechanical one. According to magazine articles the Richbrook is supposed to be very accurate. So, what do i believe?
How the hell do you know which is the accurate one?
This is a 2 psi difference which is not to be sniffed at imho.
You only have to be running 3 to 4 psi too low and you increase the heat in your tyres by being under inflated.
What do you ppl use?

Having just re-read the instruction card for the Richbrook gauge, it is listed as accurate to +or - 1%, so my 32 psi will be 31.68 to 32.32 psi! LOL.
Certainly a lot more accurate than my mechanical gauge. That was 2 psi too high.
Thats like over 6% out!

now you know your machanical device is 2psi out, sell the richbrook one (or take it back) and use the old one, with 2psi error correction

I'd rather put 2 psi extra in than run them soft...
