Prodrive were doing PFF7's for 30% off, Revolution had some even cheaper than that. Of course i do not know if they still have any. At those discounted prices i would not buy copies.

I just brought the last set of gold pff7s for revolution on thursday. just waiting for them to turn up. But they do have some of the other colours left. £699.99 per set.

What companies are selling original products, not copies!? I don't personally want copies and if i end up buying alloys and they are copies and i didn't realise i'm not going to be happy.
Thanks

Saairo look at my earlier post for info. Whilst they have em, Prodrive via your local Subaru garage are doing 30% discount.
prodrive
You will have to phone Revolution to see if they have any PFF7's left.

Thanks for telling me about the 30% but i'm not actually getting the PFF7's or Redlines, i'm just curious of what people think about replicas and what companies do them or is it all of them? I want original wheels, not copies, personally i don't think i would ever be happy with replicas.
Thanks

I think it's worth making the distinction between replicas, copies, and wheels that just look similar.
You can buy a Chinese wheel that's literally a mould taken off a popular wheel, be it forged or cast. Those are the ones I can see that give all well-priced alloy wheels a bad name. They are largely untested, and come in at <£50 a wheel, so when you work out material cost, shipping costs and a mark up for the manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer, it doesn't leave much money for manufacturing and R&D...
Copies aren't so bad, they look identical or close to, but have a degree of engineering go in to them to at least make them strong enough to last on a low-power blinged up car. They're generally low-tech though, and heavy, with poor brake clearance, very little choice in offsets, and the sort of thing you get with budgets for the price you expected to pay for a set of decent tyres.
The you have the similar looking wheels. These are your Rotas and Ultralights etc. You can see where they have taken their ideas from, but there really aren't many wheels that are unique, they're all copies of something, to a degree. These are fully re-engineered in the case of Rotas, I cant speak for others with any authority, but I would hope and expect they were too. To give you an example, the Works Emotion looks like a Rota Torque. The torque in like for like size and fitment is actually lighter. It's true a forged wheel will be stiffer than a cast wheel, and generally stronger, but there are degrees of all of these things. A Rota has a log of magnesium in the alloy, so they're light and stiff, and if hit they'll tend to have bits chipped off rather than going funny shaped, so will hold air and get you home / in to the pits. Also in this category of wheel you can be sure they're fully tested and proving, with certifcates available to prove it, rather than just having the testing stamp copied in the mould
So there you go, a slightly informed side of things and some food for thought
Anybody like to follow suit of a recent customer and part ex. some works for torques to save weight?

I found my inovit redlines to be better painted than my pff7,s but the prodrives are a darn site lighter .the redlines sort of bounced over manholes with the weight were as the prodrives ride over nicely.
