Default Help with wheels and tyres please

I need help with some decisions . I have a 04 jdm sti with original 17" bbs wheels and bridgestone tyres , which I really dislike in the wet due to the aquaplaning .I don't like the wheels much and would like to go up to 18" .I like the inovit redlines but can't get a definite answer on whether they will clear the brembo calipers or not !

On the tyre front these seem to come fitted with toyo , yokohama or falken tyres , which are the better ones to go for ?

A long post to ask will the wheels fit and which tyres to go for ?

The bbs wheels will be for sale when/if I get new wheels and so will a set of 17"gold redlines with yoko tyres almost new , if anyone is interested .

thanks

Nigel

Nigel,

I had Inovite white Tarmacs on my STi Foggy (have a look in my pictures) and they fitted over the BREMBO's no problems.

Tyres are a whole can of worms. I have used T1-R's and found them to be a good all round tyre. I have Prada 2's fitted at the moment and find them a bit skittish in the wet.

Previously I have fitted Falkens FK 452's on three other Scoobs and found them to be very much like the T1's but much cheaper when bought direct.

Thanks for that , the chap I spoke to today guaranteed the redlines would clear the calipers so now the big decision is gold or gunmetal ? The car is wr blue so I'm undecided on which looks best.

Anthracite/Gunmetal is the new gold or if you can put up with it white.
