18" tyres and wheels for black 06 sti ?
As above, current oem wheels and tyres are shot and am looking to upgrade. I like gold colour but what are your opinions on anthracite with the black car?
I have seen the GT1 14 spoke prodrive at subaru dealer for around £250 each which is about max i want to pay. Any other recommendations?
Also a bit confused on tyre size as official subaru web site says 235/40 for max tyre width on the 06sti whereas most posts on here recommend 225/40 max.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated and links to pics of your black sti with non standard wheels would be great
Thanks in advance

I just put on some 18” Pff7s on my black 06 sti (photo links given below) and it does seem to suit the car quite well. I would have preferred if they were a little darker so might get them painted later on. The GT1s will look awesome on a Hawkeye sti…guess you are going for the RB320 look? But I do know the GT1s come in anthracite and Black as well. Of the two I would probably go for the black.
As for the tyre size, like you I had conflicting advice from various alloy wheel suppliers regarding tyre sizes. Some actually wanted me to sign a disclaimer stating that I understand they will not accept any responsibility for any damage caused or reduction in performance if I opt for the 235/40/18 as oppose to 225/40/18s!!!! But I still opted for some Toyo T1Rs in 235/40/18s. Which as you say what Subaru recommend and I haven’t had any problems.

I am about to buy a set of these second hand, BUT, they have 245's on them I am assuming then that this is not going to work and that I should have 235's as a maximum? There is so much conflicting advice

Have you seen any black sti with the silver or bright flitter PFF7s and whats your opinion on the lighter colours?
Any photos from anybody?

My PFF7s are anthracite. I was actually going to purchase a black sti with bright flitters and it did look very nice and makes the car stand out more than darker wheels. I would personally go for either bright flitter or anthracite/black. I haven’t seen any silver PFF7s, only on websites and photos, so cant really comment on them. If possible, get yourself down to Revolution or maybe your local Subaru dealer and have a look your self. I actually got them to take an alloy out and put it next to my car to see what it would look like on normal daylight conditions.
