Default Removing Rear Discs URGENT HELP!

Right, I'm in the middle of replacing my worn rear discs and I've hit a bit of a brick wall.

I've read up all of the ways to remove the rear discs yet i'm still really struggling.

The discs are loose but are still binding on the handbrake shoes.

I've read that there is an access hole to the rear that you can use to slacken the handbrake, i've found the hole but fail to see how to slacked it off. I've also tried two M8 bolts into the two holes in the disc which didn't do alot.

I don't want to damage anything but I'm about ready to pul all my hair out.

Car is a 99 Turbo 2000.

Please somebody help!

The handbrake adjuster is like a cog wheel with large teeth. Shine a torch in to the adjuster hole and you should see it, although you might need to spray some brake cleaner in there first to get rid of the dirt.

You then use a screw driver blade to "click" the adjuster around. It's quite stiff, but should move.

Do it by feel - you should find the blade engages in the clickers. Took me a few tries to find it, but you will know when you've got it right

I know this might be a bit obvious but have you got the handbrake on??

Had the same problem on mine on sunday, then realised i had it on.
Released it then they came off with a single M8 bolt.

Can you borrow a torch from a neighbour?

Right walked up to my sisters and luckily she had a torch (no batteries but fortunetly i had some spare!).

One more question... Am I winding the cog up or down to loosen it off? And how man clicks round will it need to go?

Many thanks!

Honestly can't remember which way - but you won't need to wind it more than 6 or 8 clicks to discover whether it is loosening off or even tighter!

Thanks Tim you've been a massive help.

One side cam off piece of **** went to do the other side and it's being a right pain in the ****. Can't see how it could be any different to the first side, unless it winds the opposite way.

Losing light now. What a pain in the ****.
