Default Red Brembo Four Pot Conversions is not 308mm bur 300mm only

Hi all,

This is true storry about my DISCcovery how someone can sell 308mm and deliver 300mm kit.
All started 13.7.2009 at 18:23 with this mail sent to 'ian@godspeedbrakes.co.uk'

Dear sirs,

I have yours Brembo conversion and my disc are worn. They are 309mm grooved 2pcs with alloy bels in great condition so I need 2 pcs discs only. If you can supply Pagid 4-2 blue pads for this calipers I take it too.
Let me know the price and delivery time and your account details pleas. It ussualy takes 5working day till you receive money from my bank.

Regards

Erik Nagy

And untill today I have no answer, nevermind.
I spent long hours with studying catalogues of all brake disc makers and found one Tarox C30425BX with quite same hub size like Godspeed uses.
You need make 3mm thick spacer between wheeel hub and disc to clear gap if you dont want hit steering pivot with 25,4mm thick disc. And you need another 2,5-3mm washer to change brake caliper to real 304mm becouse...
Becouse dear boys from Godpeed yours great 308mm 4 pot kit is actually supplyed with 302mm discs and real working area is around 300mm mark! I mean this one: Brembo Four Pot Conversions
Last thing to do is change lug studs becuse they are little short now due 3mm spacer and disc hub design.
So if someone have same problem this is way how to do it better.

OK, I understand that English is probably NOT your first language, but guy, WHAT are you on about?

If you think you have a problem with Godspeed stuff, contact Ian, don't indulge in a semi-understandable rant on a public forum.

Yes english is not my first lanuage

Thanks, I finished that Tarox conversion so I need no new spare disc for now.
As Iam not expert Ive left our alloy hub untouched and used 3mm wheel spacers. This sollution can easily cause vibrations and death brake pedal movement too. Spacers must be 100% balanced. With this I have enough space on wheel hub side but have I need longer lug studs or remove 2mm from aloy hub what I have no idea if I can do it?
What is very interesting Tarox disc look more racing like but it works on higher temperature with DS2500 like your. I dont know how many 304mm rotors you sell today but it could be an alternative too. If you intereted I can post more detailled pictures.

to save you digging for a story that isn't there , yes on the 308mm kits with the brembo calipers , when fitting them under standard type 16" wheels I machine the discs slightly to give clearance in the wheel as they are too tight. and can end up hitting the wheel weights

This caliper can take up to a 335mm disc if you have wheels clearance

Hopefully that clears any confusion for you

Cheers Ian
