Default will 225/40/19 fit newage 2004 wrx

as above i currently have 215/35/19 and they work fine but a bit to bumpy for me so looking to soften things up a bit now i know the recommended size is 235 35 19 but will 225 40 19 go on, any help appreciated

235 R888's catch on my 2002 STI, 225's should miss, but a 35 profile is closer to the rolling diameter of the std set-up.

so will the 40 fit though? and any ideas if the speedo will be out?if so how much by? thanks in advance

this is something Im interested in as well. Not meaning to hijack but Im looking for 215/50/17 to replace 215/45/17 (same principle) due to a new baby and it would look better as well due to filling the arches. If any one knows for sure that would be good.

My wheel arches are massive (Hawkeye) so can't see how it would be a problem space wise. The speedo over reads by 8mph at 70 any way so would actually be better suited but what about the affect on handling, extra unsprung weight etc?
