Default Hub/bolt configuration and alloy wheel types

Keep seeing comments about 100/114... presumably hub/bolt sizes?
Can someone tell me exactly what configeration I need for a 1999 STI5? as its all rather confusing

I should add is it just the case that there are 2 sizes to make this easier as only 2 are mentioned in another thread but then I keep seeing comments on Offet - whats that

You need the 5 * 100 pcd for your sti 5, offset refers to how in/out the wheel is from the car the lower the number the further the wheel sticks out.

The offset or ET is the distance from a centre line through the centre of the width of the rim to the mounting face of the wheel on the hub.
STD STI (2002) is 53mm for a 7-1/2 " rim.
OZ alloys I have are 44mm for an 8" rim, so they stick out 15mm further but I gained 3mm of inner arch clearance (strut)
Try this !

Can I realistically fit 18*8 on my sti classic?
Or are these wheels a little too wide - guess for one I may have issues as even a 225 profile can foul the arches so going to something like 235/40/18 could be an issue on an 8 inch wheel width

I can't get a 235 on an 8" rim on my New-Age @ ET 44.... but ET 47-50 would put the tyre onto the strut.

P.S. Stretching a 225 tyre onto an 8" rim will leave no sidewall protection in a kerbing situation, and will be give a quite harsh ride

I assue thats the same as a 215/35 then on a 7.5 inch really should have 225's? or a slightly different configuration

You are usually safe on +/- 0.5" on rim width, but I had 215's on an 8" rim and the tyres gave no protection at all.
I damaged one rim just running over a slight ridge in a car park on full lock....

225 tyres and 18x8.5" wheels on a newage is fine. although i'm sure it's mainly due to better springs, the ride is great. i guess 215 / 7.5" is best on a classic?

inthoughtwelive has 225s on 9.5" rims and he's ok with that. now that's extreme, although his car is so insanely low he was saying 235s would rub way too much. i know i've said it before, i was told not to get 235 tyres as they would have rubbed.

i've been lucky enough not to kerb the new wheels yet, but i managed it plenty of times on the standard wrx wheels and tyres
