Prodrive or K sport?
going to get a front brake upgrade on my 04 WRX but cant make up my mind as to which way to go. prodrive are having a sale at the moment and there 330mm kit is down to £1040 which is a similar price to the k sport kit. Ive read about pads sticking in the k sport callipers but have no info on the prodrive brakes are they any good? anyone had any exprience with either system.
any advice will be good
Thanks.

I have Ap 6 pots and they are very very good. But if the orig poster has budgeted about a grand then there not really an option.
I know the prodrive setup works well from personal experience.
No idea about the k sport setup.
I've heard very good reports about the performance capability of newage brembo calipers when fitted with performance friction discs and pads.

To throw in another option , I can supply you a kit with AP 4 pots , Ferodo DS2500 pads , 330mm x 28mm grooved 2 piece discs and bells and alloy mounting brackets for £895 plus £15 P&P. For an extra £52.50 I can also supply you a braided hose kit front and rear , and 1ltr of Dot 5.1 high performance brake fluid
These are the only brakes that come with a 12 month guarantee against warping even if you do track days
Cheers Ian

Ian, will my standard MY04 wrx 17" wheels fit over the callipers? and as I see you sell recon callipers are you interested in taking my original subaru 4 pots in part exchange?

To answer your earlier question , you dont have to tap a thread into the hubs as the alloy brackets are threaded , the only kit we make that requires the hubs tapping , is for our 335mm kit which uses the standard subaru 4 pot calipers.

Ian, so thats £962.50 for the lot delivered. Is that price with the VAT included? do you take credit cards? and are the 4 pot APs available in black with yellow writing?
Many thanks,
Dan.

Dan,
This is a great kit I have it on my WRX - just be careful when refitting the wheels as they do fit but are very tight! I'd probably put a thin piece of card over the caliper while refitting the wheel to avoid chipping the paint on the calipers, also check any wheel weights are going to clear!
On that note - Ian is there a black touch up paint that would work on the AP's?
And it's an easy kit to fit!

bit of advice on KSport...
We have the 356mm 8pots on our TimeAttack Skyline. Cant fault the stopping power.
We have cracked the discs though - and the KSport parts prices are CRAZY!

Would agree with Adam's comments - the std discs are prone to cracking if run very hot on track with good pads.
However replacement AP discs (with a much better vane design and strength) to fit on the Ksport bells can be sourced from Paul at Zen for a reasonable price. Just put some of these on mine for use with the ksport kit and the stopping power is awesome.

Hi,
I am interested in a 4 Port Ap.
With which other brakes can you compare the 4 Pot AP?
They are better than the golden Brembos?
Thanks and greets Sven
