Do not run them at 50psi!

Start off with road pressures and go from there.

If it is an excessively abrasive airfield/runway track (Elvington/Blyton etc) then you will need an extra 6-10psi to prevent scrubbing them to death. A proper track with a good smooth surface (Donnington/Cadwell/Oulton etc) will be OK with road pressures or an extra 2-6psi. Check after each run to see if the outer edge is looking tired and how far down the tire wall the wear is showing, or any tread blocks are breaking off at the edges. Increase 1-2 psi at a time until you find a balance where the car is not too twitchy but the tire wear is controlled better. If it's wet then road pressures should be fine anyway.
