Default brake upgrade

i have a 1997 wrx and would like to ugrade the front brakes with a 4 pot subaru caliper is this easy to do and what would a have to do

You need 16 inch wheels to fit the 294mm brakes under, and apart from that its not too bad a job to do as long as you get the full set (bolts etc) off the previous owner/new kit

This is something i am about to do to my MY98 classic does anyone know where the brake lines are the same as i want to get goodridge hoses and am not sure which kit i need?

do you know if i will have to change the disc and pads for the upgraded 4 pots

look at my post called "spacers needed" 2 posts down from yours..this is the problem i came across when upgrading to 4 pots

i have 296mm disks by the way which is the largest you can have with this set up i understand, before you need an even bigger caliper upgrade.

Yes, the 4 pot caliper uses a 294mm disc and the pads are also different. Your current discs will only be 277mm

You shouldnt require any spacers, these are a straight fit unless of course your alloys have the incorrect offset....
