Default Anyone got AP5200's?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is running AP5200's on a classic.

What do you thinkg of them?

Got any pics?

Any issues like rattly pads?

Any issues like dodgy brake bias?

Is there just one "spring" type retainer for each caliper?

Howd they cope with track work?

Cheers
Chris

presume these are part of a 330mm kit??, very effective far better than the likes of Gold brembos' IMO, can be a little noisy as its a pukka race caliper but not any issues

Good Stuff.

They come with 330mm disks yeah.

Whats the issue with then noise? I hear they siffer rattle? What should i expect when i put them on the car?

Hope they are tolerably noisey.

My bros XP10's used to scream their head off untill they were hot.

stockcar what pad you using with your setup?

You track yours at all with this caliper? how does it perform for you?

we have used them on various track/competition cars more normally with something like Pagid RS15 grey................

on a road car then more commonly with something like ds2500 and a minor rattle, but nothing of any note

I've got them and running DS2500. Had no problems with rattling, in fact I recon those that do have fitted the anti rattle spring/plate the wrong way around- very easily done IMHO. FWIW the spring plate should be concave into the caliper, therefore pressing the pads into the caliper. I've had experienced mechanics get this wrong and wondered WTF was happening on the drive home..! Easily sorted, but I do wonder how many don't realise this and think the calipers are just noisy..?

Still one of my best mods, even if they were the most expensive, lol..!

Lol :P

Yeah the spring plate thing. Am i right, its just one, H shaped device per caliper. Nothing else? Slot the pads into the caliper, and the H shape seemingly pushes the bad into the bottom stop on the caliper towards the hub.

Bought 2nd hand so wanna make sure i got all the bits. Rekon ill work it out.

Ive got a bloke making me some decals for them on tuesday, ill try and upload the pattern/give his details if people want the same. decals look much better than painted letters (am refurbing them somewhat).

aaaalso.

Where did everyone get their fitting bracked from? Did the bracket fit without requiring any modification? Im told the one i have might require a little part of the hub filed off somewhere.

Thinking if godspeed does one that would be the one to go for instead.
