Arrow p1 tyre advice please

recently purchased a set of p1 prodrive wheels that are fitted with 225/45/17 tyres which is obviously the wrong size (car looks strange also)

question is do i fit 205/45/17 or 215/45/17 to these?
205/45 is factory size but are 215/45 any worse/better
p-zero nero or avon zz3 will probably be fitted

car is a 1998 type r

regards

Rich, go for 215/45/17, these are newage sizes but will fit a classic and a type r no problems.
Had the alternative classic size of 215/40 on my old type r but looked at getting 215/45 before I sold it.

Also, IMHO, try to get some Goodyears F1's or Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta, they both **** on your choice

Don't think the Sessanta's actually come in that size

Try Camskill or Mytyres

You need 215/40/17's to keep the rolling circumference if you are not sticking with the 205/45/17's

I run 215/40/17 on my Work Emotion wheels on my Type R,

I've tried the other sizes over the years and these seem to suit the car look wise and provide the right combination of Comfort/Performance.

I've always had F1's in the past but tried Dunlop Sp Sport Maxx this time round. They perform better both in the dry and wet than the F1's but look like there come in a good 4-5,000 miles under the F1's with regards to lasting, but thats worth it for the grip

I'll be replacing them again with the Dunlop
