Carbon fibre discs - which pads?
As title really.
If using carbon fibre discs what pads do people use? I know this is obviously a motor sport question really.
Do you have to use carbon fibre pads with carbon fibre discs? Or can you mix a different pad with a carbon disk?
Any knowledge or websites etc id much appreciate it.

Could this be Carbon ceramic discs? Although I'd have no idea where you would get any of that stuff from. Have you checked with motorsports specialists? Even demon tweeks might be able to help you here!

Same as F1 discs.
They are woven carbon composite - similar to carbon fibre but different properties of course.
Some light reading.

I used to race 250cc GP bikes and we tested a few carbon discs. They were so hard to use, needed to be so hot before they worked well. They cooled down so much on long straights they were usless when you needed them again. We solved that by running one carbon disc and one carbon steel (cant remember the name). Oh, the carbon disc used carbon pads.

Thats really useul info thank you. Do you reckon that you could get the discs up to temp around a track and keep them there for any real usage? Thinking of fast tracks like combe but like your sayng going to be hard with longer striaghts.
