How wide can you go tyre wise?

I would really like to go for 225 or 235. I want to get as much rubber on the road as possible.

I dont care about comfort, I didnt buy the scoob for that But I do want more grip. I run with 235's on my old sierra.

I do like the look of a big wheel tho.

I have gone a bit off topic, sorry, What is the best option for wheel size on a classic. I guess what I really want to know is, are there any major advantages or disadvantages to either wheel size?

I run 18" wheels on my classic with 215 35 18 tyres. It handles fine, albeit a little rough, but you don't buy a classic scoob for comfort do you? Just mind the potholes with such low profile tyres!! I wouldn't go any wider than 225 as you will run into clearance issues.

I think theres a bit of each.

For example, I got a scoob instead of an evo cos I prefer the look of the scooby.

According to Bill Gwynne the best size for handling is 7.5 x 17 with 215 section tyre.

I'm leaning more and more towards 17's altho I do like the look of 18's.

This is turning into more and more dificult decision the more I think about it.

I've got 18s on mine now and was thinking of going to 17s.

I had 18s on my old car but with crap tyres and it was horrible. The current scoob has toyos with the 18s but I still think 17s feel better.
