Youll need bigger discs and brackets to mount the new calipers AFAIK

No the brackets are only made to fit them from a Newage to Classic, if you are talking about a Newage STi, then in that case you would also need bigger handbrake shoes as their 2 pot rears are gold Brembo's. If you are talking about the subaru 2 pot rears on the Newage WRX or Classic Type-R, then you will just need the brackets, and discs obviously.

Thanks Ian! If i'm not mistaken I've seen a Version 5 with 2 pot rears. Has anyone got the calipers in question for sale?

Also my front 4pot calipers are from a Volvo (I bought the car with them). Anyone know if this might have been done because they perform better than the subaru 4 pots?

Thats right. A version 5 Type R, or someone would have fitted them from a newage if it wasn't a Type R I have them for my classic, just not fitted yet.

If you can get some STi Brembo's off a newage, they are DEAD easy to fit, using Godspeed's, (Ian Godney, above), kit.

I've done it on mine.

You DO need to be aware that the classic spare will no longer fit though: I now carry a full sized spare

I used to make kits using Volvo 4 pot caliper so it could be one of my kits , we used these because they were cheap so could offer full kits out at a good price.

For the rear 2 pots , you can use the rear calipers off a 2001 WRX as well as they are the same as a type R , quite a few sets of these on ebay at the moment for about £150 a pair.

Cheers Ian
