Default Advice on wheel bearings please

My wifes GX wagon ( our dogs mobile ) at 77000 miles has developed some strange drumming type noises from the rear n/s, it seems to get worse whilst turning to the right, I dont think its the brakes as it is unaffected by braking, so can I assume thats its proberly the wheel bearing ? if so, is that about the normal mileage for them to go and roughly how much will it costs to have it replaced, your help would be appreciated

you may be right, but wheel bearings are normally affected by the brakes as it forces the whhel into the correct poistion taking the load off of the bearing if it has failed. If you have rear disks which IIRC the GX does then it might just be the wear sensor rubbing on the disc. check ur pads before going to the expense of a bearing change.

Cheers
