Ive just purchased 4 x new T1r's and had them fitted, these tyre were a direct replacement for the jap tyres that came with the car fitted to the alloys. I left the wheels with the garage and asked them to replace the tyres. Unknown to me the tyres that were on the wheels originally were 215.45.17 opposed to the recommended 215.40.17. So I now have 215.45toyos fitted. Im hoping this wont turn out to be an expensive mistake, they dont appear to be rubbing with the coilovers that are fitted given that this was the size that the Japlad had before. I can live with the differnece in the speedo reading.

What do you think? Ps. Im just about to get the alignment and geometry all done next week. Im running rock hard Ohlin Coilovers.

215/45/17 are perfectly fine as long as all 4 tyres are that size?

most people run them as they are usually cheaper than the 40 series aswell

Just had 225/45/17 T1R's fitted last week. No rubbing issues at all.

If your car is set-up rock hard, you should be o.k.

IMHO
