Could anyone advise on the best product to remove brake dust from alloy wheels and generally keep them shiny and new looking.

I have just managed to get hold of some of the 5 spoke STi/Terzo wheels ( Made up with them ). They are are in really good condition but just have a little bit of brake dust around the centre caps and edges.

I have got some of that Wonder Wheels but wasnt sure if it would effect the Gold paint in any way. Is it safe to use, is it any good and if not any advice on what is best.

Also what is the best stuff to blacken tyres again, I use some spray stuff which is ok for a few days. Is there anyhitng better i.e balck wall paint, whats the best and how much is it.

Cheers in advance for any responses,

Chris

Thumbs up

yeh wonderwheels wont hurt and gives best results imo, as long as the lacquer on your wheels is in good nick. I used WW on some pug wheels and it actually started to strip the paint, well discolour it after about a year. But this was due to the lacquer being finished on the wheels.
I havent used another product as good as WW, just make sure u rinse your wheels off after 10mins or so with warm water But that **** will shift almost any kind of stubborn brake crud, as long as u apply it correctly. For the hard to get to/stubborn bits, I rub in WW with a fly remover sponge and leave for 10mins.
For tyres and plastic trim I use back to black spray, tis the dogs nuts, can be applied easily n actually lasts.
