I've got a leak from the underside of my power steering resevoir (95 wrx)......not too bad a leak but it smells awful!!!

Presumably its some sort of seal which has gone dodgy, but does anyone know if it's just a standard O ring seal or is it a special seal which you have to get from Subaru?? Mybe even just a new tank???

I have the same prob. on my 94 WRX. I have been told it’s a standard O ring which needs replacing. Not sure though, if you find out could you let me know.

Had the same leaking on my UK95 - power steering reservoir O ring replaced by Subaru dealer and it only cost about £18 for the labour too.

They had to order the part in though

definitly the o ring there r 2 types make sure you get the right one buy both if your unsure as it could get messy

Is the leak coming from where the Earth lead comes out of the power steering pump?

Thanx for the replies all.

The garage that looks after my car has a MAJOR selection of O rings and he said he's sure one of the many will do the job.

The leak is coming from the back of the base of the tank as you look into the engine bay....dunno if this is where the earth lead is???? Damned fluid then drops onto the engine and smells seriously bad!!
