Question

Need new brakes and am wondering if anyone here uses them, have used them or think of them.

Have looked at Scooby Sport, MRT, TSL etc and saw Red Dot's in Ripspeed.

Don't have pots of cash to spend and want to stay with my 2 pots so my old alloys fit. Don't want Mintex as they squeek, and it would drive me up the wall.
Thinking of EBC disks and Ferodo pads. But interested in others thoughts.

Cheers,

P.

I have replaced all my discs and pads with mintex 1144 and National Sport discs.

The National Sport discs are TUV approved and apparently manufacture the Pagid discs. The ones I've bought are the same as pagid 8 groove discs, but are silver in colour.

The discs are priced well at £110 for fronts (4 pot) and £100 for rear (vented).

I would certainly recommend these discs. The pads are good but as you pointed out squeal, doesn't bother me though as Scoobys attract attention anyway.

If you are interested in the discs phone Simon @ Woodford Garage Motorsport on 01803 863 958. If you want pads he will probably push you in the direction of Ferodo, but I refused to pay >£100 for a set of front pads (4 pot).

Can send you a pic of the discs if you want.

Cheers

Cheers for the reply Gary, is the £110 for the disks per pair or each?
Are the £100 for the pads the DS2500. As I am looking to get the DS2000 which should work out ££'s cheaper and be great for road use. I agree that £100+ is too much for a set of pads. The Green Stuff I had on the GSI cost £48.

Any one know a good place for DS2000?

Cheers,

P.

The disc prices are per pair, but remember I've got 4 pots so you may be cheaper still. The Ferodo in DS2000 for the 4 pot fronts was approx £120 if I remember correctly, so you may be a good bit cheaper for 2 pots.
I dont think you should forget about Mintex cos they squeal, cos the 1144 works pretty well from cold.
