Default Trackday brake question

Doing the Brands trackday next thurs and have been giving the car a once over in readiness. I've got about 8mm of material left on my pads (standard brembo 330 setup) Is this going to be ok or should I be looking at changing them?

Thanks, monkey.

Should be enough pad thickness but my brembos were completely trashed after a track day. They just didn't seem to be able to get the heat away fast enough. What pads are you runnning?

Not much time but swap 'em and bed them in quick, thin pads will heat up in no time, if it's wet don't bother...

LOL

DS2500, mintex 1144 are two makes that I have used that work well on road and track but heat is going to be your enemy out there. Do remember not to put your handbrake on when you park up after a session as you may warp your rear discs.

Performance Friction vote from me....have done four track days as well as 8000 road miles, oh and of course the trip to the ring with 15 laps.....expensive but they are still going strong.

How do you mange that?? Any more?

James if your concerned then maybe take a spare set of pads with you just in case. You'l end up using them eventually if not on trackday.

yes, as most other manufacturers they make various pattern parts to fit varying AP, Brembo, Alcon, etc. parts incl. various track compounds and rotors..................

Hummm... currently running DS2500's, which I'm happy with for fast road. Just fancy some of these PF's due to the good reviews they seems to be getting on here. Also carbon Lorraine (sp?) sound interesting.

Maybe I'm being stupid and should just go for another set of Ds2500's..?

Did my first track day at Rockingham recently - OEM pads went from nearly new to needing to be changed in 3/4 of the day. Had to brake alot less on the final few laps !

I'd wear them down on the track and be prepared to change them soon after!

carbon lorraines and the ds3000 on the rear make a big difference to the set up i had.

great initial bite and no fade.

bit messy tho but ill live with that.

looking forward to thursday now.

brakes wont be a problem!!!

I'm on my second set of PF Z pads this year, they've lasted about 170 laps of the Nurburgring Nordschleife, couple of trackdays at Spa this year and still some life left in them
