decisions, decisions - tyres???
Need to get tyres for the wife's 08 STI for September, stuck between 3 and looking for any opions that may help, tyre size is 245/40/18, the usual included - extraload and high speed rated.
My main option is Michelin Pilot Sport 2 - £800!!!
then there's Goodyear F1 GSD3 - £520
or Pirelli P Zero Corsa - £600
My last 2 cars have both had the pilot sport and I think they're fantastic tyres on all fronts, however, the wife had the Goodyears on her last car and they were very impressive, finally I thought about the Pirelli's but a few guys I know don't rate them, so any opinions would be welcome.
My gut tells me to go for the Michelins, but does anyone have any other opinions??
Cheers
Mike

The GSD3 is end-of-line now, replaced by the F1 Asymmetric which is supposed to be good if you can actually get the size you need.
The Vredestein Sessanta came second to the F1A in the Evo tyre test so definitely worth looking at that, I got mine from Camskill (with very good service). The Sessanta is uncannily quiet but has a fairly stiff sidewall so can seem a little more 'jiggly' than the softer Goodyears. Grip is absolutely first-rate wet and dry, but the tread pattern is a bit, er, odd. The 245/40 is 114 quid at Camskill so substantially less than the Michelin, and I'd be very doubtful that the Michelin would be better even if they were the same price.
