How does this change the handling?
Hi
Currently looking at putting a set of Brembos on my classic but I currently have the OZ P1 wheels fitted and I don't want to change them. my question is
If I fit 7mm spacers on each side and the longer wheel lugs to match, how will the handling change? Pros or cons?
Would it be better to space the front and the rear to keep the track even?
Thanks
Jon

Well, to get my wheels to fit over the brembo calipers (standard wrx wheels from what I can make out with a 50mm offset), I had to use 10mm spacers with longer studs.
Handling wise, I personally cannot feel any difference around my local roads. Track days may show up some small differences though.
One other thing, ensure you get some good quality spacers preferably hubcentric type so that they align perfectly and still allow the wheel to sit on the spigot rather than the wheel studs. I have ordered this type but the universal sort I had previously caused all sorts of wheel vibrations.
Of course, this type of spacer is much more expensive but worth it in the end. Until I can afford some wheels that will fit without spacers and clear the calipers, this will have to do.
Some say that there is extra wear to the bearings given the increased leverage, probably true, but I personally would say not a significant problem. If the bearing is in good condition, it should be fine given the relatively small extra leverage.
